Documentation Overview
Peptide Hackers provides comprehensive technical documentation to support research quality and reproducibility. Each product batch is accompanied by analytical data generated using validated laboratory methods.
Certificate of Analysis
Each production lot receives a Certificate of Analysis (COA) documenting analytical test results. COAs include:
- Product identification and batch number
- Analysis date and testing laboratory reference
- Purity determination by HPLC
- Mass spectrometry confirmation
- Additional quality parameters as applicable
- Specification limits and actual results
COAs are batch-specific documents. Results apply only to the specific lot referenced on the certificate.
Analytical Methods
High-Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
Purity is determined by reversed-phase HPLC with UV detection at 214-220 nm. Peak area integration provides quantitative purity expressed as percentage of total peak area. Standard gradient methods with C18 columns are employed.
Mass Spectrometry
Molecular identity is confirmed by mass spectrometry (ESI-MS or MALDI-TOF). Observed molecular mass is compared against theoretical mass calculated from the amino acid sequence. Mass accuracy within accepted tolerances confirms product identity.
Amino Acid Analysis
Where specified, amino acid composition is verified by acid hydrolysis followed by chromatographic amino acid quantitation. Results confirm the presence and ratio of expected amino acids.
Water Content
Moisture content is determined by Karl Fischer titration. Results are reported as percentage of total mass and are considered in peptide content calculations.
Endotoxin Testing
Bacterial endotoxin levels are assessed by Limulus amebocyte lysate (LAL) assay where specified. Results are reported in endotoxin units per milligram (EU/mg).
Specifications
Product specifications represent acceptance criteria established based on analytical method capabilities and research-grade quality standards. Specifications may include:
- Purity: Minimum percentage purity by HPLC (typically ≥98%)
- Identity: Mass accuracy within specified tolerance
- Peptide Content: Minimum percentage of actual peptide (typically ≥80%)
- Water Content: Maximum percentage moisture (typically ≤8%)
- Endotoxin: Maximum endotoxin level where applicable
Documentation Access
Certificates of Analysis are accessible through the COA section of this website. Each COA is identified by a unique document reference corresponding to the product batch number.
