Description
Melanotan I (afamelanotide) is a linear, stabilized analog of alpha-melanocyte-stimulating hormone (α-MSH). The modifications make it resistant to enzymatic breakdown and give it a longer duration than native α-MSH.
Mechanism
It binds mainly the MC1R receptor on melanocytes and stimulates eumelanin production.
