Epithalon
PH-EPITH-001
Specifications
Description
Epithalon (Epitalon) is a synthetic tetrapeptide (Ala-Glu-Asp-Gly) based on the natural peptide Epithalamin produced by the pineal gland. This peptide has been studied for its effects on telomerase activation and cellular aging.
Mechanism of Action
Epithalon activates telomerase, the enzyme responsible for maintaining telomere length, potentially slowing cellular aging processes (Khavinson et al., 2003). Studies show it promotes overcoming of the division limit in human somatic cells (Khavinson et al., 2004).
Research Applications
- Telomerase activation studies (Khavinson et al., 2003)
- Cellular senescence research (Khavinson et al., 2004)
- Pineal gland function studies
- Lifespan research (PMID: 40141333)
