Pinealon
PH-PIN-001
Specifications
Description
Pinealon is a tripeptide (Glu-Asp-Arg) that regulates gene expression in brain cells. This synthetic peptide is based on natural pineal gland peptides and has been studied for cognitive and neuroprotective effects.
Mechanism of Action
Pinealon penetrates cell membranes and interacts with DNA, influencing gene expression patterns associated with neuronal function. The peptide protects neurons from prenatal hyperhomocysteinemia, improving cognitive function and resistance to oxidative stress (Arutjunyan et al., 2012). Pinealon has the most pronounced antihypoxic properties among short regulatory peptides, increasing neuronal resistance to hypoxic stress (Khavinson et al., 2008).
Research Applications
- Cognitive function research (Arutjunyan et al., 2012)
- Neuroprotection studies (Khavinson et al., 2008)
- Aging and geroprotection
- Gene expression regulation
- Pineal gland peptide research
