Description
GHRP-6 is a synthetic hexapeptide and one of the first-generation growth-hormone-releasing peptides. It's a strong secretagogue that works through the ghrelin receptor, and it also raises appetite signaling.
Mechanism
It binds the ghrelin / growth-hormone-secretagogue receptor and triggers pulsatile GH release from the pituitary. Its GH-release activity has been used in research on GH-axis function (Popovic et al., 1996; Mazza et al., 1997).
